That's an embedded graphics chip in a Sony VAIO laptop.

40d# worked for me.

INIT changes:

[GRAPHICS:YES]

And I tried a bunch of different things in init.txt to make it work, but that basic change crashes past the load screen.

All I did was change this setting. Go back into the game and try to start playing. Then I got the error. Also to note, whenever I tried to change the window size with Graphics:No, the screen would go black until It went to another screen by hitting enter or w/e

Setting [Graphics:YES] with new install causes error. Adding other tilesets causes it also. When using [Graphics:NO] the error disapears.

Turned on graphics, installed mayday tileset, made changes to the init files for usability stuff(eg. turned default coffins to disable pet burial). Error continues even after i gen a world with graphics:no and try to embark after turning graphics back on, yet i seem to be able to embark as normal with graphics:no

GRAPHICS:YES -> Game crashes with the error when entering testing arena/loading a game/embarking. Main menu and intro works fine.

Problem not present in 40d# versions.

turning it on locks the game up (crash/error) and turning graphics off it works.

oh BTW. please up the severity, i can't play the game!!

Tried it with no result. DF wasnt even able to start and returned the following error message:
./dwarfort.exe: symbol lookup error: /home/martin/df_2010/df_linux/libs/libstdc++.so.6: undefined symbol: _ZNSt7num_getIcSt19istreambuf_iteratorIcSt11char_traitsIcEEE2idE, version GLIBCXX_3.4

I tried to use libraries, provided by jonharson, but nothing really changed, even when I did rebuild them from source.

Same here with Baughn's patch, symbol lookup error
