Summary | 0002149: Fisherdwarf preforming "capture live fish" job stands in place until job is cancelled
Description | Had a fun idea, which was to put an aquarium in the waiting room of my hospital, so that the nice fish might distract the dwarves from the screams of the patients undergoing surgery without anesthetic. Qued up a few "capture live fish" jobs at the fishery, and then excitedly watched as the fisherdwarf went and picked up an animal trap. Then he stood in place, on top of the trap, until I cancelled the job. I did indeed have a designated fishing zone, as well.
Steps To Reproduce | Easy enough, try to capture a live fish.

Was there any fish to catch in the designated fishing zone? AFAIK you can tell by looking at the zone designation with 'i' and if the number behind the Fishing Zone line is (0) there is nothing to catch. If there's nothing to catch he might just be waiting until there is, which can take some time. I'll try to reproduce it either way, but just checking. |

Oh, well, good thought. It seems those ponds have been overfished. I'll look for another pond to try, though the south end of the map has been a mystery for me. Edit: Yes, it seems every pond on the map is suddenly sterile. Used to have lots of fish, but then I turned off the fisherdwarf to give the ponds a rest. Whenever I have access to an underground lake, I'll give it another try. |

It is a bug: "until I cancelled the job" - job should be cancelled by game, due to lack of fish |
|
In 40d, once you ran out of fish they were gone for good. Did they come back? |
|
It is separated bug/problem. |
