Summary0002182: Removed Zones not removed from the Building List
DescriptionZones that are entirely removed with the 'Remove Rectangle' option will remain in the 'Building List'. The Zone appears to behave as though it has been deleted (Dwarves will wander away from a meeting zone removed this way, no squares will be highlighted when selecting zones, etc), however an entry will persist in the 'Building List' menu, and 'Zoom to building task/item' will zoom to the area of the zone as before. This bug does not affect Zones removed with the 'Remove this zone' option.
Steps To ReproduceCreate and destroy a zone:

Zones (i)
Place [a rectangular zone] (Enter, [move cursor, Enter])
Remove Zones (x)
Remove Rectangle (Enter, [move cursor to drag out a rectangle that contains the placed zone, enter])
Done (Escape)

Check building list:

View Rooms/Buildings (R)

this should contain an entry for the deleted zone.
Additional InformationThe zone entry persists over save/load, I am not aware of a way to fix the state once a zone has been deleted in this way, however a workaround is to always delete zones with the 'Delete this Zone' option (by default, capital 'x', under the remove zones menu).
