Summary0002770: Renaming a dwarf after a statue has been made of him yields inconsistent results
DescriptionMy newly-legendary metalsmith started carving gold statues, and one of them was of my expedition leader (who was also my bookkeeper, so I named him "Inkfingers"). I figured that after his many months of dedicated work updating the stockpile records, he was due for an upgraded nickname once we finally hit "Highest Precision", but I was curious to see what the name change would do to the statue.

Here's what it looked like before, when my mayor/broker/bookkeeper still had the name he'd had at embark:

*gold statue of `Inkfingers' Searchpaddles*

This is a superior quality gold statue of `Inkfingers' Searchpaddles.
The item is a superiorly designed image of `Inkfingers' Searchpaddles the dwarf and dwarves by `Sooty' Arbanmeng. `Inkfingers' Searchpaddles is surrounded by the dwarves. The artwork relates to the selection of the dwarf `Inkfingers' Searchpaddles to the position of expedition leader of The Contained Work in the early spring of 1052.

I then renamed him to "Mightyfingers" and examined the statue again. This was the result:

*gold statue of `Inkfingers' Searchpaddles*

This is a superior quality gold statue of `Inkfingers' Searchpaddles.
The item is a superiorly designed image of `Mightyfingers' Searchpaddles the dwarf and dwarves by `Sooty' Arbanmeng. `Mightyfingers' Searchpaddles is surrounded by the dwarves. The artwork relates to the selection of the dwarf `Mightyfingers' Searchpaddles to the position of expedition leader of The Contained Work in the early spring of 1052.

Note how the "internal text" of the description followed the dwarf's new name, but the statue's name ("*gold statue of `Inkfingers' Searchpaddles*") didn't track the rename. This is inconsistent.

If the statue's name is set at the time it's created (e.g., it's set as a simple string rather than something like "gold statue of [name of creature #19274]"), it may not be possible to go back and edit it after a rename. And it's an obscure little bug anyway -- few people ever rename their dwarves, and fewer would go back and check the statues and/or engravings of those dwarves afterwards. But if the fix would be relatively easy, it would be nice to get rid of the inconsistency between the statue's name and its description.
Steps To Reproduce1) Create several statues or engravings until one of them ends up being an image of one of your dwarves. (Might also work with pets).
2) Rename the dwarf who was the model for the statue/engraving.
3) Check the statue/engraving again. See if the name ("statue of ____") is still consistent with the description ("The item is a/an ... image of ____").

I shall use necromancy on this issue!

It doesn't actually seem inconsistent to me. When the craftsdwarf makes the statue, he probably engraves the base or something with a placard that says "'Inkfingers' Searchpaddles" which the game records as part of the statue. But the description is more like someone telling you about it second-hand, 'he is surrounded by dwarves,' which would include other information like "oh, and they call him Mightyfingers now."
