Summary | 0002906: Wood Cutters Behaving Oddly
Description | This is probably related to 0001674 but it won't let me just attach a note to that one, so here. Basically, I came across an odd issue with my primary wood cutter. After he joined the military to fight off some Alligators harassing my Liason, he suddenly became confused about his axe. When he was on active military duty, he would pick his axe up and go fight. When he was off duty, he would immediately take his axe to the bin and leave it there, even if there were trees designated to be cut down. Activate, he picks up axe. Relieve, put away axe. Every time. I tried assigning the Wood Cutting labor to another dwarf, but he refused to go pick up the axe as well. It wasn't until I got another Wood Cutter on immigration that I was able to resume cutting down trees. (Oddly, the other two wood cutters finally decided to start working again when the new wood cutter showed up).

Toady's note at 0001674:0010952 states he 'thinks' this was fixed - if you are experiencing this still, then it is a valid update. If you could upload a save, that would be helpful: http://dffd.wimbli.com/ |

Here's the link to the save: http://dffd.wimbli.com/download.php?id=2888&f=region1-aut-1052.rar Looking at the situation, I think I might know what is happening. My Militia Captain took the other axe as his weapon when I formed my first squad and so I think the woodcutter is refusing to use the same axe for wood cutting and for military, so since the other axe is in use he can't get it. Dunno if that makes any sense, but I think that might be what is happening. |

Thanks for investigating -- that fits the description of 0001451, and it's good to have confirmation. I'll crosspost the save link. |
