| Description | I'm sure this is the cause but after attempting to save my game i got an error the dwarf fortress had to close but it didn't actually close the game. worried i ran the save to see if it got corrupted but it loaded and no errors. I figured i would finish making my well and quickly order my metalsmith's forge to start making a chain. about 10 minutes went by and i was unable to build the well (needs chains) is what it said. so i went back to the MS forge to see if the dwarf was there or not he wasn't i checked the task list of the MS forge and the chains where not on there so i added the task again. I let about a minute pass and checked it the task was gone again but no dwarf even came close to the forge so i repeated making the task and checked it again and it was instantly gone again. it pretty much game breaking for me as i cant make anything with my bars now . | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | not sure if it can be as you need to probably have an error when saving the game. i had to go back to an older save and everything worked fine there. but i lost a lot of my work. | ||||

Is the forge forbidden? You can check by 't'-ing over the workshop to see its components (the anvil, etc.). Have you tried deconstructing and rebuilding the forge? Are you getting any cancellation messages? Do you have enough fuel, metal bars, etc? |

You have your job cancellation option set to announce no cancellations. Hit 'o' then 'x' to change it. You will then see that there is no fuel to work with. |
