Summary0003128: Caravan Traders lose their goods when you retract them on the bridge.
DescriptionBasically you can steal from the traders if you use bridges.
Steps To Reproduce1. Traders travel over bridge.
2. Pull Lever.
3. Steal their stuff.
Additional InformationNo idea how you would go about stopping this other than forcing Mechanic that is pulling the lever to fail in task when there is someone on the bridge and recreate the task until you can pull it. Hopefully without the announcement spamming.

What would you expect to happen? Remember, trading basically sums the amount of goods they took into your lands with the amount they take out. So, steal all you want, IF that is what you want. But nothing in life is free.

As for the bridge, I'd say that is expected behavior.

Never said I wanted to steal them. They left without their goods when the bridge was triggered. This was an accident and they still had a path to the goods when they were moved. If they felt like actually getting them still it wouldn't have been a problem. This is a bug regardless if it is expected or not.

The trader's goods were pushed adjacent to the base of the area where the bridge pivots to lift and lower and they were on the same Z-Layer as the bridge. There were 2 bridges side by side triggered with the same switch and in the same direction as to form 1 large bridge essentially. There was a couple squares of floor tiles circling around them both as well.

I did not notice a trader below the bridge. As that is where my refuse was and was the reason why I opened the bridge.

I would expect the traders to be able to slide down the bridge on their backsides yelling 'WEEEEEE!' Then wait for ... at most... a season to see if they can proceed to do it again. As well as paying for the ride each time and having it add to my coffers. Dwarven Theme Park Tycoon.

Or simply for them to gather their things and leave ... That could work too... But I am also repeating I guess...

It sounds like you either flung or dropped the traders. In either case, that's... kind of aggressive, or at least mean spirited. Would you stick around if someone tried to kill you with a bridge?

Yeah regardless of physical interpretations of in game actions, events which involve physically moving either the goods or traders is regarded as an action of theft, therefor the game took the appropriate measures and and had the merchants leave without their seized goods.
I would think that makes this expected behavior.

It's been about a month and there's been no real further reports from the reporter on this issue regarding expected behaviour. It's my opinion that removing the ground under someone is at least slightly rude, thus this is expected behaviour for now.
