Summary | 0003316: windows: "dwarf fortress has stopped working"
Description | It happened once during opening movies, but reliably when I open one of my worlds to find an embark location. Does not happen when scrolling in any direction on "choose fortress location", only certain ones. Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: Dwarf Fortress.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 4c9b6efb Fault Module Name: Dwarf Fortress.exe Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 4c9b6efb Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 004676fa OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.4 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789
Steps To Reproduce | I created a default world, then scrolled directly to the right on "choose fortress location screen". About half way across the world map, it barfs with above message. It does this when I load it, and when I move in another direction, then back to the "problem area".
Additional Information | I am keeping the region files so I can send them to you if that helps.

Ok, then can you find the world that is causing the crash, upload the world, and tell us where on the map the location causing the crash is? |
|
I am also getting this kind of crash to happen. |
|
I also get this when I scroll around the world map (I think it was a large world) a lot looking for an embark location. I'm also using .31.14, but I'm on linux. |

Freshqy314, reopen this if you have an answer to my question. DarthSiliou and Olith McHuman, it is incredibly useless to comment on a crash like this without either a save or steps to reproduce a crash. If you have either of those, I'd encourage you to open your own bug reports rather than comment here. In many cases crashes can be bundled together - but there's no guarantee either of your crashes are at all related to this one. |
