This is a suggestion and not technically a bug. We are currently only using this tracker for bugs. Thus please make this suggestion on the suggestions forum.

but, if we start with interface quirks, we may very well have a never ending flood of problems mostly of which everybody knows (Today in primis)

I'm all for interface enhancement and quirk fixes, but not if that mean messing up with the 'proper bug' tracker

This is as much a bug as http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=6196 and http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=6706
It's also extremely annoying when you're trying to trade.
hopefully since Toady as fixed the above two bugs this one will get looked at soon as well.

 Those two bugs were due to controls overlapping and lists being unreadable to the point of it being impossible to determine the selected item. While this may be annoying, it is not nearly as much of a usability problem - the full item title can be seen by pressing 'v'.
