Summary0003360: Military has preexisting orders on squad creation, squad "empties" itself when orders changed
DescriptionWhen I created a military squad, my soldiers switched to their military profession with the task Soldier(cannot follow order). When I set them to the Active/Training alert, the squad was listed as having zero members in the military screen. Furthermore, the dwarves that had previously been in the squad were not among the list of dwarves available to add to the squad.

I disbanded and recreated the squad, which fixed the last issue. The dwarves switched to their military professions with Soldier(cannot follow order) again as their listed job. Checkng the {s}quad screen showed that they were ordered to kill a goblin crossbowman that (to my knowledge) did not exist on the map. Removing this order vacated the squad as in the first case.

A third attempt played out identically to the second, except that the dwarves were set to be stationed at an unknown point (presumably off-map, as they were in my meeting area with Soldier(cannot follow order)).

A fourth test resulted in a squad with the same instant militarization, same task, no orders, and giving them an order vacated the squad, yet the soldiers followed the order, still in their military state.
Steps To ReproduceCreate a military squad

Choose one:
 -Change the squad's alert status
 -Remove the squad's preexisting order
 -Change the squad's preexisting order

Check military position screen

UPDATE: Adding soldiers to the squad after the military screen declares all positions empty results in both the new dwarf and the previous dwarf in that position being considered a member of the squad. I have fifteen dwarves in one squad, five of whom are listed in the squad screen and (oddly) the military screen, and they're all charging outside to kill zombies. Cancelling the order did not remove these five from the military screen.

I tried to reproduce this and failed; Was this fortress transfered from 3.14/.13/.12?

I cannot reproduce either on a Fortress created natively in .15. I have no imported fortresses to test at the moment.

It was on a fort created in .15. I'll upload the save if needed.

Reminder sent to: Urist Imiknorris

I haven't seen anyone report updates to this, so it may have been fixed...were you ever able to reproduce this yourself in versions after 31.15?
