| Description | I downloaded the latest version of DF just a few days ago, installed it over the last version I had (from August '09) on my portable HD. Previous version worked fine. Current version crashes at the 'Placing Civilizations' phase of Worldgen. Latest crash was at (39), I've seen crashes at (6) and at (50). Don't know if this is an issue with me personally or with the game itself; I've tried redownloading the game twice, both times from a different mirror, and got the same results. I'm also running the Linux version on my other computer with no such issues. | ||||

*sigh* It would probably help if I included the error message I get, huh? "One of the compressed files on disk has errors in it. Restore from backup if you are able." That's the error I get. |

I get this exact same issue, except that it always crashes at (40) for me. It crashes at (40) every single time, giving the exact same message. The version that I was playing was 0.31.25, so it is a bug that has been carried on for a few versions. The last version I played before this one was a 0.28 version, and it worked fine. |

It is likely Laptop PC or 7 pro problem. But can you post worldgen settings and seeds? |
