I noticed this on a different save from 0.31.16. Was this a save from 0.31.16? I can't get it to reproduce, but I did put in a patch for the crashing behavior, hopefully. |

Turns out the save file is from 0.31.12. I guess that was the issue. Started a new map and fortress and haven't encountered the issue since. |

I'm guessing it is happening with a few of the imported saved from any "compatible" version prior to 0.31.17, but it isn't clear to me why. Something to do with how it sets up the appearance modifiers. |
