Summary0003745: Dwarves lose nicknames upon killing enemies
DescriptionI have nicknamed every dwarf in my fortress for ease of tracking them. Whenever one of my military dwarves kills a goblin, he loses his nickname and reverts to his old dwarven name.

The nicknames are assigned using Dwarf Therapist but appear correctly in game.

This happens on every notable kill and so should be easily reproducible if it isn't a glitch solely in my game. I'm surprised (having searched the forums and bug database) that it doesn't seem to have been reported previously.
Steps To Reproduce1) Nickname all your military dwarves.
2) Send them out to kill goblins.
3) Note that those who score kills lose their nicknames.
Additional InformationFound using the Lazy Newb Pack (Phoebus tileset) with no further modifications beyond a few safe ini tweaks.

I don't believe the loss of name occurs with a non "notable" kill, as my hunters never suffered from it.

Save can be uploaded later if required (I don't have access to it right now).

Try assigning the nicknames directly within Dwarf Fortress next time - if it works, then the bug is in Dwarf Therapist.

Reminder sent to: Maugrim

Maugrim, does it work if you assign the nicknames in-game rather than using DT?

UPDATE: the issue is indeed with Therapist - not reproducible if the dwarf has his nickname assigned in-game. Go ahead and resolve this one.

Thanks!

Erm, got a reminder in my email but I'm not sure how to mark the bug as updated? Already said that it does work correctly if you assign the nicknames in-game.

Cheers
