Have you tried updating your graphics drivers? What PRINT_MODE are you using in init.txt?

[PRINT_MODE:2D] is what I am using. I will update my graphics drivers and see if it still happens.

I've also had this same issue during the opening movies, but no problems during gameplay.

x64, Windows 7 Professional, and with the latest nVidia drivers. Also using [PRINT_MODE:2D]

I also crash at the opening movies, but only if I press space too fast to get past them. Print mode is VBO.

Confirming on my end. PRINT_MODE:2D unmodded. Win 7 Professional as well, and updated graphics drivers.

Had the same. DF v0.40.03, the sans-music version, using vanilla configs.
Windows 8.1
Intro movie was playing when it crashed.
Explorer died shortly after, and explorer doesn't normally die on me.
