Summary | 0003780: Dwarf Fortress won't install
Description | I've tried installing Dwarf Fortress three times and it won't play. I keep getting the same message about missing the file 'index', which *has* successfully been extracted into the data folder. Ant tips?
Additional Information | FATAL ERROR Main index file missing/corrupted. The file "index" must be in the "data" folder. Make sure DF decompressed into its folders properly.

Did you extract it to the Program Files folder or some other location which required elevation? |
I extracted it to a folder called "Dwarf Fortress" inside of my Program Files folder. |
Try installing it somewhere else instead. Vista places special restrictions on the Program Files folder. Please reopen this report if that doesn't solve your problem. |
