Summary0003923: Crash on Save before Cleanup
DescriptionFrequently (almost every other time) I go to save DF crashes to desktop.

DFFD Save:
http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=3761
Steps To ReproduceLet run for a few ticks, Pause, Save

My only guess as to cause would be heavy use of Dwarf Therapist (0.6.7). I change lots of labors quite often.
Additional InformationI moved DF out of the "Program Files" dir to D:\df_31_18_win.
I have set "[COMPRESSED_SAVES:NO]". And I set Windows to compress the Save folder, files and subfolders.

This is a clean install, no mods or raw edits.
Only files I touched are:

colors.txt (copy/paste of one of the color schemes from the wiki)

init.txt ( NO sound, intro; [WINDOWEDX:1768],[WINDOWEDY:992],[FONT:curses_800x600.png] )

d_init.txt ( [AUTOSAVE:SEASONAL],[AUTOBACKUP:YES],[AUTOSAVE_PAUSE:YES],[SHOW_FLOW_AMOUNTS:YES] )

world_gen.txt ( [CAVERN_LAYER_OPENNESS_MIN:0],[CAVERN_LAYER_OPENNESS_MAX:0],[CAVERN_LAYER_PASSAGE_DENSITY_MIN:0],[CAVERN_LAYER_PASSAGE_DENSITY_MAX:0],[LEVELS_ABOVE_LAYER_1:40] ) This is what I used to gen this world.

Let me know if you need other save files. That .sav came from \current.

Also nothing in error log.

Suggested fix: close Dwarf Therapist, Stonesense, and other tools you may be using before saving the game.

this is a similar issue to the crashs I get

if it's indeed linked then one would assume there's a bug in the code regarding saves

zip the entire region folder, not \current.

Most recently the game autosaved in Spring with no problem. Then about a game week later I had a migration wave message. I tried to save from that autopause point and the game crashed. It crashes almost instantly after I hit save.

Loaded this and made it to mid-spring but did not get immigrants or a crash at save.

It takes quite a while to both load and save, though that is probably because of the large amount of z-levels.

This is a decent size embark, what size was your embark square?

Not sure if windows compression acts the same as COMPRESSED_SAVES:YES (notes at 0002017:0014925 suggest not), but there is an issue with compressed saves on 64-bit systems - see 0002017. Does this sound like your problem?

If not, try to get this crash to reproduce without the use of 3rd party programs and we can go from there.
