| Description | No corpses or body parts rots, no matter if they are vermin or from larger animal, inside/outside, above/underground, whole corpse or chunk of it, in stockpile or not. Miasma isn't produced. Interestingly it is impossible to butcher them, butcher's shop reports that there are no unrotten corpses. | ||||

I can confirm this as being present in at least some versions I've seen, including .19. Corpses turn into skeletons, but never completely rot away even outside. I'm not sure about severed body parts, but in my experience, they too don't decay into oblivion. |

AbuDhabi: Bone tissue isn't supposed to decay. Once a corpse reaches skeletal status, that's it as far as the natural order of things goes. Think archaeology. :) The behavior the original poster is observing is presumably that fleshy tissues aren't rotting either (although I've never seen that happen.) |
