I'm pretty sure it's always been this way; from what I can tell, it just selects between the words "a" and "own" in the thought message based on whether or not the furniture is owned by the dwarf (and conditionally inserts "tastefully arranged" if it was in a sculpture garden). |
I'm pretty sure this is intentional - these are the dwarf's own thoughts so I don't see why he'd use pronouns. Unless anyone has any compelling arguments that this should be questioned as intentional, then I'll resolve it. |

I'm pretty sure this is intentional - these are the dwarf's own thoughts so I don't see why he'd use pronouns. It uses pronouns (he/she), just not possessive adjectives (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Possessive_adjective). But yeah, it's consistent enough that it's probably intentional. |
This is definitely unintentional. "He admired own fine cabinet lately" is not a sentence, it overloads the word "own" a bunch of weird ways if you try to make it one. This is an interesting argument but it's obviously wrong |
It's grammatically incorrect, but that doesn't make it unintentional. Being grammatically correct on something as fluid as a gender based caste is a non-trivial exercise. I suppose the applicable tags are [male], [female], or a lack of either, which should correspond to He/She/It, His/Hers/Its, and Him/Her/It? |

I suppose the applicable tags are [male], [female], or a lack of either, which should correspond to He/She/It, His/Hers/Its, and Him/Her/It? This is a moot point because the Thoughts/Prefs screen already uses his/her/its in plenty of other places (see the screenshot up top, "His very long beard" etc). |
There isn't reason to assume it's intentional until Word of Toad. It's entirely possible that Toady simply accidentally overlooked adding in a [PRO_POS] tag, (which handles male and female pronouns already, as evidenced by the speech files,) or made a typo that made the game simply overlook the token entirely. |
