Summary | 0003945: Migrant children born in the future. |
---|
Description | I've had child immigrants twice now whose birthdates were in the future. Their age is listed on the Thoughts screen as the absolute difference between their birthdate and the current date, so that the age decreases as time passes.
The affected children don't become babies once their age drops below (negative) one, thankfully. Nor does anything dire happen once the birthdate is reached; the age starts increasing normally. So other than increasing the time these children take to mature, this seems to be a purely cosmetic issue.

Steps To Reproduce | Run a fortress long enough to attract migrants. Check the birthdate of each child migrant that arrives, as given on the Thoughts screen. Some of them may be in the future. |
---|
Additional Information | I haven't been able to detect any pattern as to which children this affects, other than that both affected children I've encountered thus far have been immigrants, both the younger of two siblings and both under the age of (negative) two when they arrived. I'll be interested to see what happens to their relationship status if they get new baby brothers/sisters.
There also seems to be something strange happening with the children born to my fortress, where the month of their birthday as given on the Thoughts screen differs from the month they were actually born. I can't find any correlation between the displayed month and the birth month. Their age seems to be calculated correctly from their actual date of birth, rather than the displayed date. I'll pay close attention to the next baby born and report back. |
