Description | Cave moss is generating in a way that it all shows up in groups of near perfect rectangles that looks very artificial. | ||||
Steps To Reproduce | Embark on a new site, dig down to a cave and look at the cave moss. You'll see what I mean. | ||||
Additional Information | In later months it may start spreading so you won't notice it as much. A fairly minor issue, mostly just aesthetic, but also probably an easy fix. | ||||

Well, it probably wouldn't be too easy a fix, as it's a symptom of a deeper issue. I believe (speculation) that it doesn't look at each tile and go "hm where should this moss spread to", but rather "pick random tile in this area (rectangle) and add x amount of moss to it." In short, it won't be fixed for a while. |

Does this happen right at embark or after some time has passes? I can't get it to reproduce. In 0.31.19, things can regrow in ugly rectangles, but I can't get it to happen right at the time of embark. |

It seems to occur immediately but not on every embark. I noticed it several times in .19 but my current .20 fort doesn't seem to have this phenomenon. I also never noticed this with surface grass, just cave moss. I'm using Phoebus's set so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Besides that there are no other modifications. |
