| Description | During world gen, underground creatures appear to be able to attack and eat people who live on the surface in their area. I've only noticed this occurring with modded in creatures, using the [SAVAGE] tag, but it's consistent, and they do not have any above ground biomes. Seems like this would be easy enough to fix by putting in a check to make sure above ground creatures aren't attacking surface folk. | ||||

Could you perhaps expand on where you are seeing this? Dwarf Fortress by default does place a few underground predators like trolls and cave dragons in overworld lairs, and people who give you the task to kill them acknowledge that "At times, creeping things slither out from below ground.", "A vile monster from the bowels of the earth has been preying on our people.", or other such phrases. |

Another potential expected cause is dwarf and goblin leaders taming certain underground creatures and using them in battle, so if what you're seeing is nameless underground beasts killing historical figures, you could check the "Age of" lists to see whether there was a battle that year where such creatures were involved in. |

This appears to be occurring as random creature attacks, not tied to armies. I haven't seen them in adventure mode though. I'm having a lot of t-rexes escape from the caverns and ravage the overworld in history. |

I've turned a few of my underworld creatures savage rather than evil, generated a world, and exported the xml. Looking for the slayer_race, the only such creatures with kills are historical figures, namely the type of creature mentioned in my first note. Do you have a screenshot or a save of this happening with non-historical monsters not tied to battles? |

Given the information we've been given, this seems to be the expected behavior I described rather than a bug. |
