Summary | 0004311: Dwarf cancels Collect Hive Products: Job item lost or destroyed....x1116 and still rising...
Description | Announcement spam as in title. Hive Products remain uncollected.
Additional Information | I don't really know what kind of peculiar circumstances caused this one, but I've uploaded a save of a few seconds before about 150 more copies of the message are generated: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=4019

Did you accidentally forbid the hive and/or its products? |
The products are available (the job zooms to the hive). Pathing appears ok. It looks as though all of your containers for gathering are already full. You are also making a lot of bins, but it seems everything is already hauled and not tasked, so they should be available. There is only an unglazed one, so maybe she is trying to use that. Forbidding and reclaiming all of them doesn't seem to help. It is impossible to tell which object she is trying to use because the job is instantly taken and canceled on a step '.' Only way I could get it to stop was to deconstruct that particular hive the job was using. I waited for another hive to become full of wax and jelly, but no job was generated until I made some more jugs (wooden). The job was generated and taken and completed. Something got confused with the jugs. There is rock nut oil in a couple of them, perhaps the jobs both tagged the same jug for use. |
So perhaps the presence of the oil in the jugs is not preventing the job from being created/assigned, but is preventing it from being carried out? Thanks for the insights. I deconstructed the hive to silence it, too, but now that there seems to be some sense behind the madness, I'll be able to make some attempts to reproduce the behavior. I was completely at a loss for an explanation, originally. |
I tried this under a few circumstances and couldn't get it to happen. We'll see what the status is in 0.40.07 now that beekeeping should be a little more workable in general. |
I've had this same issue in 40.12 and am uploading a save to the file depot labeled with the issue number. |
UristErrant86, it's easier if you post the link here like so: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=9774 |

Thanks, Footkerchief, I'll remember that in the future. I just wanted to mention that I've discovered that it's possible to identify the hive that is generating the spam by using (t) to look into the hives until you find one containing a jug. Somehow, the jug appears to get "stuck" in the hive, preventing collection. Deconstruction of that hive stops the spam. |
