Summary0004657: Zombies do not leave any corpse, body parts or blood and do not count as kills.
DescriptionWhenever I have sent a dwarf out to kill a zombie version of anything, the zombie disappears after a couple blows, appears as deceased on the Unit list but does not leave any blood, corpse, limbs or miasma.

For the dwarf that killed said Zombie creature, the zombified creature doesn't get credited to them in the kills list. (Skeletal creatures do not get credited either but don't have the other problems that zombies do.)
Steps To ReproduceJust embark in a terrifying/sinister area and all zombie versions of creatures have this problem (Zombie Elephants, Zombie Groundhogs, Zombie Badgermen, Zombie Tigerfish, Zombie Stingray and Zombie Giant Cougar are the ones I encountered in the 3 fortresses I made to see if it would reproduce.)

Does it indicate that the zombified creatures have collapsed?

If so this is a duplicate of 0002357.

It doesn't indicate that the creature has collapsed, and that report does not indicate that there is no corpse or anything left afterwards which can be a real problem.

The "collapsed" message only ever shows up in Adventurer mode, so this probably is the same thing.

Ah, I forgot that death messages don't show up in the combat reports.

I also fail to see how having no corpse/bones is a major problem, at least yet (unless they are your only source of bones). There is due to be an overhaul of the undead system with the introduction of necromancers in the next release, so I would expect this will have changed by then.

Thanks. Can't recall if I can use dorf bones, guess I will try that out later, otherwise I will have to do without.
