Summary | 0004691: Lowest possible z-level has positive absolute depth
Description | If you hold down ">" to go down to the lowest possible z-level, the absolute depth indicator (in the most extreme lower right-hand corner) will show a number which is neither 0 nor 1.

It depends on where you embark - if you're at the ocean and the caverns are particularly tall, the surface of the Underworld might be close to 0 or possibly even beneath it. |
Oh, absolute bottom is 0 at sea level? Huh, this might be more of a feature request than a bug, then. |
Normally, the depth indicator is 100 at sea level, and exactly how far down it goes from there depends on how tall the caverns are. It would be very bad for the bottom of the Underworld to always be at Z-level 0 as it would force embarks to be far taller than they need to be, increasing memory requirements and reducing FPS. |
Ah, okay, not a bug. I'll make a feature suggestion to re-calibrate the absolute depth measurement so it's 0 at the deepest possible level. |
