Product Version | 0.31.25
Summary | 0004771: Saved game crashes the same time a few seconds after resuming due to fire(?)
Description | I had a Hill Titan walk in to my map and launch a fireball at a kitten, lighting half of my game world on fire before harmlessly flying around the edges of the map. I presume it's this fire that causes this crash repeatedly because there's not much else going on and I've loaded the game multiple times to see if I can change something and avoid the crash, with no luck at all. The crash happens at what appears to be the exact same time after resuming game each time leading me to believe that it's a specific spot that's catching on fire. It's also probably somewhat noteworthy that the Titan doesn't move at all for these few seconds of gametime.
Steps To Reproduce | Unpause the save for a few seconds lol
Additional Information | Description of Hill Titan: "A towering hairy leech. It has thin wings of stretched skin and it moves about carelessly. Beware its fire!" http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=4761 I probably wouldn't say that report ID 0002763 isn't really related, the beast doesn't use the ability when the crash occurs, I think it's simply the aftermath (fire everywhere) that causes it. |

Reminder sent to: Since Did you copy over your raws or install a mod after the world was generated? You raw dates are prior to your world gen. |
|
No, I only edited the raws of the save I'm currently playing, all I did was change some [PET_EXOTIC] tags once I got a baron and disabled the pause/centering of damp/warm stone and goblin snatchers. Clearly something was altered, but as the save's name of 'region2' suggests, it was my second fortress, so I wasn't really even sure what a raw file was and definitely wasn't about to start fucking with them or anything so I at least didn't change anything directly. I run the game via the LazyNewbPack with the Phoebus tileset and only use Dwarf Therapist as far as utilities go. I may have poked around in the LazyNewbPack settings (FPS cap and such) which I suppose may have altered the raws but I think that was after that save became borked. I also just tried loading the save and disabling all dwarf labors before unpausing, same exact results. Hope that helps some lol |

Reminder sent to: Since I know you didn't edit any of these raws directly, as they would have been saved with a new date AFTER your world was generated, which appears to be July 9th. It may not have been something intentional on your part. You may have gotten confused to which raw directory you installed your mods because they are installed over an already generated region. When you generate a region, all the files will have the same date. If you edit one, it will be dated after this date. However, since all of your files are dated PRIOR to your world gen, they appear to have been copied over the original ones that were used to generate the region (they should have been installed to the game raws prior to world gen, not into the generated region folder raws). |
|
I haven't done any modding, it's not even something I've started to think about. Perhaps LazyNewbPack edited the region files? It's possible I may have tried to disable aquifers or something after generating the world before embarking. |

Hey guys, I'm having the exact same issue. I've posted my savegame here http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=7320 Description below: This crash is almost exactly like issue 0004771, the only difference being a demon diplomat causing the fire after being jumped by a kobold thief. This save crashes after about 20 frames. I am running completely vanilla (though the world may have been generated using LNP). Just like the other reportet, I also usually use LNP and Phoebus graphics, but it happens with pure vanilla too. Sudden unexpected crash. No framerate slowing and very little memory being used. I'm happy to answer any questions, keep up the good work guys, it is appreciated! |

Since save compatibility has been broken since this report, it's hard to tell whether this crash has since been fixed. If anyone has a save that crashes under similar conditions in the latest version, please upload it to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ and PM a manager on the forums (or reopen the report). |
