Summary | 0004829: Count keeps complaining about pretentious sleeping/burial/etc
Description | Occured the first time when the noble became the Mayor. He started to complain about some other Dwarf's office - even though he had the *by far* best office (something like >opulent vs decent). Not knowing what to do else I began to further improve his room. What happened next is that he some (happy) day stopped complaining about the office but started right away to complain about some another dwarf's *bedroom* - even though I didn't change anyone's bedroom but his (improved it). This went on and at the moment he complains about his burial arrangements. He is the only dwarf that has any arrangements but the dead dwarfs - and those lie in coffins in a smoothed corridor. The dwarf (now a count) has a royal mausoleum btw... :) I hope I didn't overlook anything but for the life of me I can't think of anything not buggy that could cause this...

As far as I know, this is intended behaviour. The noble is upset that another dwarf has a better room than the other dwarf *should* have. To make the noble happy, lower the quality of other dwarves' rooms. |

Is that a recent change? I've never had the problem before and I'm not able to find anything about that in the wiki either - there's only(?) one paragraph and that describes the normal jealousy: "Jealous - These dwarves will become upset if "lesser" dwarves have better rooms than they do. They don't have to see the rooms to become upset, since they somehow just know such rooms exist. ") Nevertheless I'll check it out the next time I'm able to invest some more time into the fortress ... thanks for the tip! :) |

As UristDaVinci said, this is intentional. See the wiki for an explanation of the various thoughts. http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/DF2010:Thought |
