A note. There is nothing special about situation of the save. I've tried to disable all tasks in every workshop, removed squads, etc. But nothing helped.

I can't get this to reproduce on Vista SP2. Have you checked with your mod authors to see if this may have been fixed?

No mods
I also tried to download vanilla version of 0.31.25 for linux from bay12games.com, extracted it without any kind of modifications (no graphics like ironhand\phoebus, no programs such as lazy newb pack) and this save still crashes DF used my OpenSuse 11.4.

I consider graphics packs to be mods - the save is Phoebus:0.31.25v20 and related graphics phoebus/magnut/sphr. There could be a problem with your setup of these.

None of that would affect a fresh vanilla install, however - your original report was for Vista - are you able to get a fresh install working on that? And just to confirm, are you using 32 or 64 bit? Are your OSs on the same machine?

Well, initially I used DF for 32-bit vista with phoebus icons. But when I found that the game crashes, I've tried to run DF on a 64-bit linux vanilla version. So, I got crashed DF under linux (OpenSuse 11.4) as well for the same save files.
Vanilla DF 0.31.25 version under my 32-bit vista does crash.

Ok, thanks for the follow-ups. I can't get it to reproduce, so we'll have to see if anyone can test it on the same OS & version as you to see if it is that or specific to your system.

Since save compatibility has been broken since this report, it's hard to tell whether this crash has since been fixed.
