Summary | 0004909: Unit Screen sorting gives me migraines
Description | I've been getting major headaches / migranes lately, and I think it has to do with the Units Screen. When I need to find a dwarf with a certain name (to match my spreadsheet), I have to carefully read the names down the list of 0000115:0000150 dwarves, or 8 pages of randomly assorted dwarf names. So all this staring closely is having adverse effects on my health. If there could be some option or even init-file-flag that let's us control how this menu is sorted, then I could have more time playing DF and less time migraine-vomiting. Another option instead of sorting by dwarf name would be to sort by current active role e.g. if I have an accomplished seige engineer who is only set to Masonry, then he would show up in the Mason section and not the mechanics section.

This is more of a feature request than a bug report - additionally, there exist third-party utilities which can accomplish this sort of thing. |
