| Description | I can't assign dwarves battle axes made by my weaponsmith. They'll take training axes happily, as well as two imported copper battle axes I have sitting around, and I've assigned non-imported steel swords, spears, and hammers with success. However, I have iron and steel battle axes in my weapon stockpile and I can't assign them to my dwarves at all. They just don't show up in the "assign specific weapon" list, and if I tell them to grab any steel or iron battle axe, they don't. The game thinks they don't exist at all for military purposes (but I was able to bring them to the trade depot and trade them away). The axes aren't forbidden or marked for melting/dumping. | ||||

Is the reproducibility consistent enough that you've seen it in multiple fortresses? If not, it might be helpful to upload a save. http://dffd.wimbli.com/ |

I spoke slightly too soon. The actual problem was that my arsenal dwarf wasn't doing any arsenaling for some reason, so the weapon list didn't seem to be updating. I replaced him and all the sudden those axes exist. That doesn't really explain why the other weapons made at nearly the same time showed up, but the problem as I reported it doesn't exist. |

Alright, I'll close it then. If the problem with the nonfunctional arsenal dwarf shows up again, you can reopen this issue or create a new one or whatever. |
