| Description | Smelter breaks and will not allow any jobs to be queued, this includes melt item. When checking the requirements for the job for the fancy reactions, it says that the reaction is missing fuel despite there being coke and/or charcoal available. This lock-up happens to every smelter, and every new smelter that is built. The bug does not extend to the metalcrafting workshop, it only effects the smelter workshop. Are you using burrows, have you forbidden the charcoal/coke, and is the charcoal/coke tasked for something else? Also it would be better if you upload the save to the Dwarf Fortress File Depot. |

You had forbidden all of your coke via the stocks menu. Unforbidding the coke and making sure there was metal available to smelted via the stocks screen (I used hematite in my test), then queueing up a "smelt hematite ore" task resulting in the task being completed successfully. I suspect the charcoal listed on your stocks screen must be somewhere inaccessible, and with all the coke forbidden, there would've been no fuel available, resulting in your error message. Resolving as unable to reproduce. |
