Which PRINT_MODE settings make it work?

2D does, I can test others if needed

Baughn, this appears to have been an ongoing issue since 0.31.03 at least (see the duplicate list; I kept this report open because it has the best description of the problem). Not sure whether it's in a section that you can fix, but it does seem specific to TEXT.

Actually, shift-enter seems not to work anywhere (in any part of interface).

This can't be fixed on the input side; there's no way for ncurses to distinguish shift-enter from plain enter. If it is to work, the binding will have to be changed.

Adding a text mode-specific interface.txt might be an option?

For the record, shift-arrows (and probably other shift-non-letters) don't work as well.

Shift-numpad doesn't work properly as long as Numlock is active, as far as I've found. You actually have to hold down "4" and THEN press shift to get it to work, rather than holding shift.
