Summary | 0005506: Books bound in weird substances
Description | In the legends mode listing of artifacts I see some books bound in things I'd think you couldn't bind books with, like gems and graphite. There was also a book bound in forgotten beast leather, though that's something that could conceivably happen.

It is possible to make thin stone, wood, metal, or glass (or even cloth/silk) pieces to use as the bindings on books. If it was made of FB goo, or something like that it might be a problem. Take the artificial sapphire sheets used as touch screens for modern phones/tablets -- if holes were drilled along one side you could easily use them for book binding. With dwarves able to make entire coffins, or flood gates, from a single small gemstone, I would think making a book from one would be simple. :) |

I was wondering whether that's due to my mods - beyond forgotten beast materials I've also seen bogeyman and werebeast materials, but I think those were only of my modded materials. |
