Summary | 0000583: Cannot Use Stockpile Settings to isolate Rock Blocks
Description | I tried to set up one bar/block pile to accept only Rock Blocks, and another to accept all else (bar/blocks). The dwarves keep lumping the rock blocks into the "all but rock blocks" pile.
Additional Information | Settings for unused pile: bars/blocks > Blocks > All Enabled Settings for pile where everything ends up: Bars/blocks > Bars: Metal > All Bars/blocks > Blocks: Metal > All
Tags | rock, stockpile | ||||

Update: I just got a guy to toss a mica block into the unused pile by enabling Metal Blocks (all). |
I was going to report the same thing. Rocks seem to be thought of as metal (hence the rock bars problem), and as such they expect them to be placed in metal block stockpiles. |
This is true for seemingly anything made of rock that you might want to stockpile. Make a furniture pile for rock furniture, rock furniture will not get stored if you disallow metal. Make a finished goods stockpile for rock crafts, rock crafts will not get stored if you disallow metal. |
I had a bar/block pile where only rock blocks were enabled, and nothing was stored there, so I went into the blocks: metal submenu, scrolled, and enabled the stone types that the blocks were made of, and dwarves immediately started putting them in the stockpile. |
I managed to reproduce this with rock blocks. Here's the save, as if anyone's confused about it: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=3560 Notice the different stockpile settings next to the mason's workshop. |
It's because stone blocks are listed under Blocks:metal For now you'll have to just disable the first page or two of metals and the rest are stone types. Or do the forbid all, and enable all the metals for the reverse. |
