Summary | 0005918: Compound fractures seem backwards from real life
Description | According to Wikipedia, compound fractures are basically broken bones exposed through open wounds. In game, they only occur when a tissue with a [STRUCTURAL] tag and a subordinate tissue connected to it are both broken in the same blow. Gaping wounds where the skin, fat, muscle and bone are all torn and smashed apart count only as ordinary fractures. Nails breaking along with the skin of the fingers or nervous tissue with the bones of the spine both trigger the flag, but they seem to be the only ones. It seems the game is looking for damage "below" the bone instead of above when deciding for a fracture definition.
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Enter the arena, spawn an armed dwarf or several 2. Assume control of one, bust some spines and fingers, hack up limb bones with slashing attacks 3. Assume control of a victim, immediately press Z to check the health sheet. Note how compound fractures only happen with smashed nails or severed spinal cords
