Summary0005955: Baron Dissappears on Loading
DescriptionI just upgraded to a Barony and appointed the Mayor/Broker as the new Baron (to save on rooms) and appointed a new broker, then upon loading the game the Dwarf who was the Baron completely disappeared from the units list as far as I could tell. (No legendary Appraiser in my list anymore)

If he's dead or has become an enemy of the fortress (e.g. from going berserk), he may be in a different unit category. Have you checked them all?

 Yes, I have, he had no mood or anything before hand, the unit quite literally disappeared. All his previous rooms became unassigned, as well as him being in no list whatsoever, not even missing/dead

Edit: I do have dfhack added in, didn't think about that before hand, but I haven't done anything but spawn magma and use reveal at the start

Edit 2: Possible that he died, but his corpse isn't showing up as legendary, a Trader took his tomb as his grave, so that may be him, but I still don't know how he could have died, was alive and well when I saved... Hard to tell with all of the random traders I've been having die all over the outside...

Edit 3: Sorry, I was unaware of the game log file, but I just found him, he was interrupted by a Goblin pikeman, no combat log (Possible viewing it through fortifications), then a while later randomly suffocated, there was no inaccessible area on the map he could have been in and no injuries that I had been able to see... It's a possibility I overlooked this so unless I repeat it this can be closed.

Units lose any assigned position on death - thus, if your Baron dies, he'll revert to being an ordinary dwarf with whatever profession he had before.

Okay, feel free to reopen this if it becomes clear that it was a bug.
