Summary0006205: When siege tries to spawn in a 1x1 wide patch of land, siegers spawn sequentially.
DescriptionThere is a tile. On three sides, it's bounded by water. On three sides, it's bounded by the edge of the map. On two sides, trees have grown up.

The siegers, a bunch of goblins, tried to enter the map on this tile. However, since the tile is filled with goblin at any given time, they arrive sequentially, each on top of the previous goblin's corpse. They can't move out of the tile since it's blocked on all sides. It's, effectively, a one-man siege.
Steps To Reproduce1) Embark on a heavily forested area with a freshwater lake or non-passable stream.
2) Play for a very, very long time until a siege happens to spawn in a single blocked-off tile, that is, one with no valid movement options in the 8 surrounding tiles.
Additional InformationI've been trying to go at them with marksdwarves, but the occasional bow-goblin that pops up has proved to be very effective at headshotting my troops. I'm thinking this is perhaps *the* application for siege equipment? I can't get a dwarf close enough to chop down one of the blocking trees, and I don't think I could get a lava outflow close enough to do damage. Tunnelling up from below won't work, because they're right against the map edge.

Build a magma-carrying pipe way above the tile. If you go up high enough, the dwarves won't notice and be frightened by the goblins below. Use bridges to build the last section, since they can be built all the way to the edge of the map; a bridge for the floor and two drawbridges which you will raise to form walls to contain the lava.

You don't need to drop it directly on them necessarily, either; just use the steam generated by dropping it on the water. That way you don't destroy the goblinite.

Anyway, probably not a bug. The siegers should probably be smarter about where they spawn in general, but that's more of an enhancement request.

Easier steps to reproduce: block off the edges of any map with raised drawbridges, all the way around except for one tile somewhere, which could be further isolated by channeling next to it on the side interior to the map and removing the ramp. This method would force *any* incoming units to all spawn on the same tile, e.g. migrants, merchants, etc. Merchants could then be picked off one by one by marksdwarves given kill orders, which would test the bug in safe manner (since the merchants won't fight back).

Hm, good idea.
