Summary | 0006222: "Midnight Blue" displayed as light blue
Description | Dimple dye is "Midnight Blue" coloured according to the raws. "Midnight Blue" is the darkest shade of blue in descriptor_color_standard.txt but is displayed in game as light blue. This at least seems like a mistake. Wasn't sure what category to put this in.

Correction: It is displayed in game as cyan not light blue. |
Color descriptors use actual RGB values, and the game compares them to what you specified in data/init/colors.txt to pick the nearest color to display on-screen. It would seem that the algorithm used for this changed between 0.28.181.40d and 0.31.01, which is why it's now choosing cyan for dimple dye instead of dark blue (and bright red for redroot dye instead of dark red). |
My reasoning for adding the "Probable Quick Fix" tag was that it worked before and Toady no doubt still has the working code. |
The tag's name is possibly misleading -- we use that for raws/text fixes. |
