Summary0000628: Crash while under attack by HFS
DescriptionThere is a very long story to this fort, but I'll summarize what's happening at the time of the crash.

-There have been 4 Flesh Balls terrorizing my population, which has interrupted nearly every job the dwarves can do.
-There is miasma everywhere from lack of hauling, because of the Flesh Balls and dwarves berserking
-Jobs/Activities constantly being canceled due to interruption by hostiles
-Demons have just made it up to the general living area of the fort and are shooting steam and ice around
-There is a Forgotten Beast, who is made of coral, running around in the field outside, chasing any dwarves it can see.

The game started to have less than 1FPS and paused frequently as soon as I breached Hell and the demons started to make their way up 170+ floors. I thought that would be the reason the game slowed so much, but when they got to the living area, the FPS sped up again. I thought this was weird because they were shooting steam and ice around and the game has no trouble rendering that.

Last I checked, before the crash, I was down to 15 dwarves, but I know I had some people running around other parts of the map, alive. I doubt this crash is because I'm running out of living dwarves. I'm not sure what exactly is crashing the game. I have copied the windows details of the crash, but they don't seem useful.

I have also run this save from where I last saved, just as the demons got out, twice. The crash happened both times after the demons got to the general living area and started to wipe out dwarves. The FPS was also less than 1 frame, and would happen in bursts both times.
Steps To ReproduceBreak into hell to check if demon pathing causes the low fps, make a LOT of unhappy dwarves who keep trying to rest but get interrupted.

I was able to play through this file all the way to the end of the fort with 0.31.02, although the incredibly slow FPS was still there. Also, the game lagged and went unresponsive when the last dwarf died. Waiting for a minute or two seems to work itself out, but it doesn't seem right that the game pauses for that long to load something.

Reminder sent to: Lederan

I know this is an old report, but would you still have the save associated with this?

If so, please upload to http://dffd.wimbli.com/

This very well could have been solved by updates since this was reported, but without a save there isn't much we can do with it. FPS issues are more than covered by other reports.

Lederan, if you can get this to reproduce in a current version, please reopen this report and update it, preferably with a save.
