Summary | 0006323: Dwarves add bins to stockpiles but do not add items in bins
Description | I have a coke stockpile set to accept only that with size 9 tiles. It has 7 bins added to it by the dwarves. But they have not put the coke in the bins. I think they only add stuff to bins when they take the bin with them. There should be a "re-organise" option in a stockpile set to ON/OFF which makes dwarves shuffle the items to use fewer barrels. It will also prevent this from happening.

To try to fix this, I "removed designation" from my current 3 * 3 stockpile, and created a new 3 * 10 stockpile. Out of 30 tiles, I now 27 tiles filled with 1 bar of coke. There are two filled bins of coke. And funnily, one empty bin of coke. I have noticed that every stockpile ends up "asking" for one empty bin to start with as soon as you create it. This is a waste of effort and bins. Just get the bin whenever it is needed. Otherwise, a fortress with (say) 25 stockpiles needs 25 extra bins. |

This doesn't happen to me. In every stockpile I checked, all of my bins had something in them. |
