| Description | At first I manage to link lever(s) without problem (to floodgate, bridge, etc.), but eventually when i choose "add new task", "link up a {object i want}" the screen moves and escapes from my lever menu, so i cannot choose any objects. I can post my savegame if required. I am still quite new to the game, so maybe I am doing something wrong... | ||||

You use [+] and [-] (or whatever your secondary scrolling keys are) to select an object to link to from the menu. It's confusing, but I think it's working as intended. Edit: Since it sounds like you've linked things before, I could be wrong. Just make sure you're not using arrow keys instead of +- for linking. |

No, in this case, it goes completely off. There is no lever menu. The screen moves to completely unrelated room... |

You are using the "Mouse Query" DFHack plugin, which is known to cause this exact problem when attempting to link levers to triggers. In the future, please do not report bugs on this tracker if you are using DFHack, running a patched Dwarf Fortress executable, or playing a world where a previous player was doing either of these because of the possibility that any bug you observe may be a direct result of using such 3rd-party utilities or modifications. |

Thank you, that will most probably be the cause, I will try switching off the "mouse query". Just a note, I guess many new players approach DF by downloading the Lazy Newbie Pack. I downloaded Peridexis pack (top of google search) without knowing that it was modyfing the core game, and causing problems. |

Please reopen this if the problem still occurs in vanilla DF. |
