Summary0006433: Unsealing HFS in Adventurer mode does not spawn inhabitants?
DescriptionIn Adventurer mode, unsealing HFS by picking up an upright adamantine weapon does not appear to spawn any creatures (as usually happens in Fortress mode), despite the glowing barrier being "replaced by shrieks from the underworld".

There have also been reports that curious underground structures are devoid of undead in Adventurer mode - I've personally observed this on multiple occasions back in version 0.31.12, but have not confirmed it in the current version.

Did you run into any zombies in that fort? I've run into not one or two, but at least four such apparently abandoned demon forts in the same world which had no zombies or resident demons.

Save points with abandoned demon forts, all are the same world. I also found the same case in a fort on the opposite side of that world but I don't have a save for that one.

Also, not every demon fort is affected by this bug, I've had some which had the usual inhabitants.

I haven't personally experienced this bug in version 0.34, but enough people mentioned it on the forums that I wanted to make sure it existed on the tracker (and it didn't, so I added it).

This is the thread that I guess prompted Quietust to post the bug report:
http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=136181.0

Also, since the saves I posted above were origionally posted on a separate bug report because I had origionally posted for a different bug:
http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=4013

Whether this bug and the grass in caverns one are connected in some way remains to be seen, I wouldn't call it a definite connection yet.
