Summary0006715: Items wrestled away from opponent with both hands appear doubled/duplicated in inventory
DescriptionWhen grabbing the same item from an opponent's inventory with both hands and then moving away to steal the item, the item will appear duplicated in player's inventory. The duplicate is not truly duplicated, acting as a single item regardless of which of the two entries the player interacts with.
Steps To ReproduceGrab an item with two hands and pull away. If you can maintain control of the item, it will appear duplicated.

It should be noted that this issue has been around since at least 0.34: http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/v0.34:Wrestling#Bugs

After successfully getting two "steel two-handed sword" listings (one for each hand) in the arena, and being inspired by the "Intentional/Expected?" tag, I decided to try dropping them both, to see if I actually had two distinct objects. I found that I could only drop it once, and then both listings disappear.

If you try attacking with your sword after the duplication trick, you'll get two sets of attack options for your sword (slash/stab/slap/strike twice).

It appears that, though you don't get two distinct weapons, the game doesn't properly handle holding a weapon in two hands, and thus blindly duplicates listings, making it seem like you have two weapons. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a general issue with any item appearing on/in multiple body parts, and it's just that this is the only(?) way to have something be assigned to multiple body parts at the moment.

The inventory listing could maybe have one listing that says its position on your person is "Left hand & Right hand", or some other mechanism for handling items on multiple body parts. The attack choices, I think, are a consequence of not recognizing the same object across multiple body parts.

(One could argue that the two-handed sword should be listed as "Multigrasp" after the wrestling maneuver, and perhaps other weapons (such as the long sword I was able to do this with too) as well. I think however that a more general solution, for any selection of multiple body parts, would work out better in the long run.)
