I can't confirm this bug 100%. In my adventure mode game, when i arrived at a necro tower, the zombies were attacking their master tearing them apart. Then other necromancers reanimated the hands and mutilated corpses. These new "spawned" creatures attacked me, but i talked to them to cease hostilities, and it worked. Imagine talking to a zombie hand. When I befriended the zombies, I moved into the tower and read the books of life and death, but I didn't become a necromancer. I spent an hour reading through all the book and the engraved slab, but nothing happened. So yeah, there are a lots of bugs regarding necromancers. |

I think it's intentional that you can't reanimate bodies that are missing crucial body parts, e.g. if their torso has collapsed. Preventing infinite reanimation was a goal of the new pulping/collapsing mechanic. Does that explain things? |
I don't know; the "bug" seems very random. Destroying the head seems to remove the ability to reanimate, and small parts such as teeth and fingers can be lost without destroying a zombie. If it is a feature, it's a bit too fickle - only about one in ten corpses can be reanimated. |
Well, the parts that have to be destroyed to kill a zombie might also be the parts that prevent it from being reanimated. One in ten might be reasonable. Need more information. |
I've reanimated plenty of corpses, included mutilated ones, so I think this is working as intended. |
