| Description | It is now possible to start Adventure Mode as a goblin or kobold. Usually this will mean beginning in a Dark Fortress. However, it is impossible to fast travel anywhere near such a fortress. This can make it extremely frustrating to get anywhere from your starting location, given their size and complexity; and doesn't seem to make much sense given that it's your hometown, so to speak. I assume that the bar on traveling in dark fortresses is a holdover from when they were always 'enemy' locations. | ||||

when did it become possible to play as a goblin or a kobold without teaking the game? as far as i know it's been possible to do that for a while now... you just have to make the civs playable. am i wrong? someone? |

If all other civs are dead, you can play as a gobbo or kobold. |

This is also the case if the pits have been taken over by one of the normally playable civilizations. Here's a save where the elven civilization has taken over a goblin site: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=9009 If you start playing as an elven adventurer and select Urgebad as your starting location, you won't be able to fast travel directly from there. |

The same exists for if you're playing as a normal civilization that has taken over a dark fortress. You can't fast travel regardless. |
