| Description | I've been having trouble getting my dwarves to upgrade their armor. I tried a number of things, and then realized that when going to the select specific armor area, only the items I'd originally purchased at the start of the game show up, aside from one artifact. None of the steel items I'd made show up. Dwarves will not upgrade their own armor to anything, and after dumping the equipment of one dwarf, he refuses to even get his old stuff back. | ||||

You probably need to appoint an arsenal dwarf. The game isn't very helpful about telling you so. |

Already have an arsenal dwarf, unfortunately. Maybe he isn't doing his task, but the dwarf is already appointed. |

Is your arsenal dwarf busy with other stuff? I had a single dwarf doing high-precision stockpile counts, job management, and arsenal duties all at once, and he just never got around to the arsenal part. Try making a peasant your new arsenal dwarf if that's the case. |

That seems to have solved it; I freed up his time and suddenly the useless waterskins, flasks, and everything I'd had for ages are being used, and they're finally using steel items. I guess this is resolved, then, unless it's still a bug in that you have no idea that the job isn't being done? Thanks for the help, though, that was getting annoying! |
