Summary | 0007448: Specific ramp-based setup causes lower Z-levels to be ignored by game
Description | I have taken to using a spiraling ramp as the main way of going down Z-levels in my fort. Dwarves are able to navigate this ramp without issue, however trying to haul or build using materials from more than 1 Z-level away works sporadically, and more often than not does not work at all.
Steps To Reproduce | Create a fort and use channeling to dig downward in a tight spiral: ^v X^ XX vX XX Xv v^ ^X Build two small spaces more than 1 Z-level apart and try to move items between the two.
Additional Information | I have only so far attempted a clockwise spiral.

related to | 0007412 | resolved | Dwarves will cease using dug/constructed ramps after some time |

Please upload a save that demonstrates the problem to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ and post the link here. |
|
http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=9055 I've uploaded the entire save folder. That should be enough, right? |
|
Out of curiosity, who's actually working on this? Footkerchief, Knight Otu, are both of you working on it together or are you both working on it separately? If you're allowed to answer such things, of course. |
|
Toady is the only one who fixes bugs. It only gets "assigned" to Knight Otu or me in a managerial sense. |
|
Ah. Well, pass on my regards to the Great Toad, and thanks for the information. |

Thank you for uploading your save. Your bottom ramp is unusable. A functional ramp requires four tiles: 1) a ramp tile 2) an open space tile above the ramp tile 3) a "solid" tile next to the ramp tile 4) a "walkable" tile above a "solid" tile next to the ramp tile In your save, you dug out the tile due south of your lowest ramp, which is the only tile with a "walkable" tile on the z-level above. |
