Summary0007587: Hunter not hunting birds
DescriptionAccording to Dwarf Therapist hunters do not 'equip' their bolts, they pick them up but the bolts suddenly disappear from their equipment list. Still, bolts appear to be dropped when unassigning them from hunting.
Steps To ReproduceGet a dwarf with hunting skill
Unassign them from hunting, observe them going to a stockpile to leave their equipment (crossbow, bolts)
Enable hunting, observe that they pick up both crossbow and bolts but bolts are not shown in inventory.
Additional Information Both of my hunters have quivers, enabled hunting and suitable wildlife to hunt for.

 Never mind, didn't realise that there is a menu for that, silly me. Still, they won't hunt. Maybe it could be because the only huntables are birds? Will edit a bit.
EDIT: I apparently can't edit the issue.

Yeah, I don't think hunters will hunt 'vermin' type critters. However, wildlife should appear on map fairly often unless all the animals in the biome are dead.

 The only animals that are in my area are cob/pen swans and white storks (both can be attacked by the military, so they are not critter). They haven't travelled off the area at all, neither have any come. My fortress is reclaimed, before that I used to have a steady wildlife change.

Also, the birds are flying. I think I hunted down one injured bird which had dropped down to ground for some reason.

 Negative, that was when I hadn't yet reclaimed the site i.e. with previous set of dwarves. I believe that the hunters cannot hunt anything that is in the air, only those birds that are on the ground.
What I mean is that I cannot confirm whether they can hunt birds, but they certainly can hunt the injured, on the ground ones.

Yeah, they only hunt creatures that they can path to, which means no flying birds. Please reopen this if the hunter is failing to hunt ground animals.
