Summary0007616: Wheelbarrows associated with large stockpile cause job cancellation spam
DescriptionWhen I have a large stockpile that has at least one wheelbarrow assigned to it, the dwarves will ONLY bring items back with a wheelbarrow. If a wheelbarrow is unavailable (in use), then they start spamming "Urist McDwarf cancels Store Item in Stockpile: item inaccessible".

Unassign all of the wheelbarrows from that stockpile, and they haul things normally, so it's the wheelbarrows and not the stuff getting stored that's causing the cancellation spam.
Steps To Reproduce1) Make a large stockpile and wheelbarrows.
2) Assign wheelbarrows to the stockpile.
3) Have more haulers than wheelbarrows.
4) Cancellation spam.
Additional InformationFairly minor, given that the workaround is easy (unassign wheelbarrows until the stockpile is full). May be related to 0005964.

Here is the save: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=9139

The save will load on the correct level. The large stockpile in the upper left (Stockpile 1) is the one causing the cancellation spam. But if you unassign the wheelbarrows from the stockpile, the cancellation spam stops.

The wheelbarrows certainly appear to be the cause of the job cancellations in that save. Have you seen this with other types of stockpiles? It may be related to that stockpile's settings (it's set to accept everything, and I haven't seen this with stone-only stockpiles in my forts) - I noticed a couple hauling jobs with food barrels and a wheelbarrow attached, which may be related.

I haven't noticed it with stone-only stockpiles either, only with the catch-all ones. But I usually have two types, an initial catch-all which then gets winnowed down as I set up individual single-type stockpiles where I need them. I haven't tried with stockpiles in between (accepting multiple different categories, but not all categories).

Having a large stockpile intended for Wood / Stone and using wheelbarrows will in fact cause one dwarf to haul to that stockpile regardless of how many dwarves you have.

This is rather a large problem when you have stone / ore to move around.

Note : It seems that Multiple dwarves can use several Wheelbarrows but they will not push around rocks if you have set the amount of wheelbarrow to either 1 or 3.
The Dwarves should be able to both at once, this would be specifically usefull for large stockpiles.

v0.40.09 -- I can provide a save if necessary, but I can also confirm that this is occurring in my game, specifically in stone piles at this point in the fortress. It applies whether or not it's all stones, or some stones; I tend to split my ores into a separate pile from the regular stones, and it is affecting both piles.

I can additionally confirm from my save that unassigning wheelbarrows has definitely allowed hauling to proceed as normal. Having the wheelbarrows assigned seemed to allow hauling as normal -- But only for three dwarves at once. Everyone else just stayed in the Meeting Hall.

Yes, please upload a save that demonstrates the problem to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ and post the link here.

Here ya' go!

http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=9447

The leftmost stone stockpile is non-economic/metal stone, the one to the right is ores/economic. Both have 3 wheelbarrows currently on them. There's a large open area with some unstockpiled (and currently Forbidden) stone that can be used to illustrate the issue.

I think this bug can be closed as "no longer present". My current fort (in 0.42.06, on OSX) has four stockpiles that accept everything, and each has at least one wheelbarrow (they can be assigned a maximum of three). I haven't seen any cancellation spam from any of them.

Ok - if you find a situation that isn't explained by the wheelbarrow (max 3) functionality or by stockpiles being assigned to workshops causing cancellation spam, please PM a manager on the forums.
