Summary | 0000773: Furniture get dumped after deconstruction when mass designation is used.
Description | When a constructed item is included in a mass designated area for dumping (d -> b -> d) it will be put in the dump when it is deconstructed.
Steps To Reproduce | Build a piece of furniture and place it. Set a dump from the activity area menu. Use mass designation dump (d->b->d) to select an area that includes the piece of furniture. Deconstruct the furniture.
Additional Information | Reproduced with doors, beds, tables, and chairs. Dwarves will not dump construction material from a deconstructed workshop.

I think it was the same way in 40d. You can view a furniture using (T) to see that its item is marked for dumping. But it actually cannot be moved until it is deconstructed. |
|
FYI, not new to this version. if you look carefully, every building will be designated to be dumped if a dump commmand is given in the square the construction resides upon, even before it is deconstructed or given the order for deconstruction. |

This doesn't really seem like a bug to me, but I'll leave it open until we find out if it is expected behavior or not. |
|
It sounds like expected, useful behaviour. |
