Are you sure that the animals in question are PET and not PET_EXOTIC? |

I had exactly the same problem, I was trying to tame a pair of foxes I caught and they were not on the list. Quite irksome. |

I can tame elephants just fine. |

Huh, I wonder if maybe it's just foxes that are bugged? |

Foxes are PET_EXOTIC in the raws. You can't train them until your fortress has the Dungeon Master noble. |

What about Raccoons? I have caught a raccoon, and I seem unable to tame it. Unfortunate in that my miserable peasant likes raccoons, and a raccoon pet would cheer her right up. |

Ahhh, I see. I just thought that foxes were still nonexotic pets like they were in 40D. |

Raccoons are also PET_EXOTIC. It's been 3 days with no feedback from the reporter or corroboration of the issue, so I'll go ahead and close this. |
